      <image:title>About - About Me</image:title>
<image:caption>My name is Dr Sarah Gauci, I completed my PhD at Swinburne University in 2022. My PhD research investigated the association between diet, cardiometabolic health and cognitive performance in middle-aged and older adults. I now work as a researcher at the Food and Mood Centre, Deakin Univerity. I am funded by SOLVE CHD, an NHMRC synergy grant that aims to transform post-discharge secondary prevention of heart disease. My current research program explores the interrelationship between brain health (both mental health and cognitive health) and heart health. I am passionate about co-design and consumer-led research and how to co-design a cardiac rehabilitation program for people with poor mental health after a heart event. I am also interested in better understanding the role of sex and gender in health and how we can improve health outcomes for women.</image:caption>
